Behind the Scenes At The Antiques Roadshow

Image from original article

The Genealogy Insider (Family Tree Magazine) recently did a post about the PBS series “Antiques Roadshow” as it was filming where the Magazine is located, Cincinnati.

Though I tried once to attend a Raleigh show, I was not one of the lucky lottery winners and so was fascinated to learn a bit more about how it was handled.

Many of our family heirlooms have sentimental value more than monetary value and knowing and understanding their “street value” is important in terms of possibly insuring them and definitely in terms of preserving them.

The same article includes some links to articles about preserving heirlooms, though, a search around the internet found some great state created websites about preserving heirlooms:
·    Preserve Your Family Treasures (Minnesota)

What are your favorite resources about or tips with regards to preserving heirlooms?
