If only we could get the 'internet only genealogists' to realize how much more there is (and should be!)...
That is one of the comments made by
NGS Conference attendee Pat Kruger – read what else she had to say!
“I wanted to send my congratulations on a very successful completion of the 2011
NGS Conference. Everything from the venue to the speakers, exhibit and events went well and the team you had assembled clearly worked hard to make it all happen. I think you achieved a great balance between ge nealogical theory, process, practicality and technology. So much that is available today seems to be about "internet" issues and in thinking about the conference as a whole, it was refreshing to have a breadth of offerings. If only we could get the 'internet only ge nealogists' to realize how much more there is (and should be!).
The conference gave me some new ideas for my problem lines and I met some great people. It's helpful to remember that the role of the conference is education, but the benefit of that is is that it enables us to make progress on our family lines, meet new people, share successes and dilemmas, explore new topics and broaden our perspectives. And thanks for the opportunity to share my own experience with
research repositories. It was fun and I hope of benefit to the audience. South Carolina
Regards and thanks for all your hard work.”
Editor’s Note: Please share your comments about the recently concluded conference! We’d love to hear from you – what did you like or not like, what was invaluable to you, did you make any special connections, new friends, meet distant cousins, etc?
