Upfront with NGS Now Feeds to Alltop -- Top Genealogy News

Upfront with NGS is now part of the “Top Genealogy News” as presented by Alltop!

We stumbled across this news aggregating service and think it’s an exciting way to see the genealogy news headlines of the week, including the news from your very own NGS!  With so much information out there, it can be overwhelming to “keep up!”  It’s simple, clean-looking format makes it very easy to "see" current news feeds.

Since Upfront is the newbie, you will need to scroll to the bottom of the genealogy page to see us (or just hit F3 and type Upf)!

As stated by the website ...
  • The purpose of Alltop is to help you answer the question, “What’s happening?” in “all the topics” that interest you. You may wonder how Alltop is different from a search engine. A search engine is good to answer a question like, “How many people live in China?” However, it has a much harder time answering the question, “What’s happening in China?” That’s the kind of question that we answer.
  • We do this by collecting the headlines of the latest stories from the best sites and blogs that cover a topic. We group these collections — “aggregations” — into individual web pages. Then we display the five most recent headlines of the information sources as well as their first paragraph.

Check it out.  What do you think?

  1. The Alltop page is now labeled Personal History-Genealogy and has this URL, Personal History-Genealogy http://personal-history.alltop.com/

NGS seems to have disappeared as have many of those previously listed under genealogy. Don't know if that is a temporary glitch or what.
