Family Tree Magazine Releases List of 101 Best Websites 2016

Annually, Family Tree Magazine creates a “best” of list for genealogy websites.  The most recent one is “101 Best Genealogy Websites for Genealogy in 2016.”

Many of the sites listed are for the state archives and/or library or state historical society and there are some other gems listed.

The categories this year are:


As we often mention, even if you have visited a listed website, it might be time to revisit it.  These websites are constantly evolving, making more and more material available to researchers.

Additionally, “new-to-you” websites might be listed for a locale of interest to you.  Maybe you will be pleasantly surprised by being able to access some new resources.
