With registration for the 2013 Family History Conference sponsored by the National Genealogical Society underway, it’s an excellent time to consider why one might attend such a conference.

Since we are obviously biased about the value of attending this conference, these general  tips are from individuals who are NOT affiliated with NGS except maybe as members.

There are many more similar articles out there about the benefits of attending a genealogy and family history conference.  See what others have said about why they have attended conferences and what they have gotten out of them.

For those who have attended NGS or other conferences, what do you consider the #1 reason why you attend?
